Seckford Care celebrates Christmas with festive lunch and gifts

Seckford Care celebrated Christmas on Tuesday 18 December with a Christmas Lunch which brought together residents of the Seckford Almshouses (very sheltered flats), Jubilee House (residential care) and Seckford Day Club.

A traditional turkey roast was served with all the trimmings, with Christmas pudding for dessert. Each table centrepiece made by the residents. The meal was followed by delivery of gifts to each resident and member of the Day Club. Staff at Seckford Care were invited to suggest appropriate gifts, with each person receiving a gift specifically selected for them.

Festive cheer has spread through the Almshouses, where the halls have been decked with stunning decorations including six full-sized Christmas trees around the building and a wonderful knitted nativity scene.

Sarah Kopferschmitt, Head of Care said: “It is fantastic to see so many residents and members of the Day Club come down to celebrate Christmas with us at this special meal. It is always lovely to share gifts with the residents, with the lunch a festive highlight for us all.”
